Since winning the 2017 NBA championship, the Golden State Warriors have been very outspoken about not meeting with President Trump at the White House. After all-star players Steph Curry and Kevin Durant confirmed they wouldn’t be attending, Trump; as to be expected, withdrew the invitation.

Warriors head coach, Steve Kerr left it up to his players to determine how they’d orchestrate their time while in the nation’s capital, and they chose to visit local schools in the D.C area, according to ESPN.

“It’s their championship. They got dis-invited to the White House, so it’s up to them what they wanted to do. So they made their plans,” Kerr told ESPN. “I want the players to have a good day and to do something positive and to enjoy what they’re doing.”

“At the end of the day, it’s about us celebrating a championship, so there’s no point in getting into the political stuff and all that,” forward Draymond Green told the sports site. “It’s about something we did great. Why make it about [politics]?”
