What is The Hajj?

The Hajj- also known as, the Pilgrimage to Mecca is basically a progression of customs performed in and close to Mecca, the holiest of the three blessed urban communities of Islam- – Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem. As it is one of the five mainstays of Islam, all devotees, able to attend the event that are financially and physically capable, must make this Pilgrimage in any event once in their life.

The Hajj must be made between the eighth and the thirteenth days of the twelfth month (called Dhu al-Hijjah) of the Muslim lunar year.
